Owen Electric employees are collectively allocated 1,000 hours a year to use for various volunteer efforts within the communities we serve. These efforts include volunteering with community food banks, toy drives for area hospitals, Ronald McDonald House of the Bluegrass, and youth development organizations.
Owen Electric has donated more than $1.1 million to schools, charitable organizations, and non-profits that help improve the quality of life in our communities. We're proud to support smaller organizations doing great work in our local communities as well as larger organizations like Honor Flight Kentucky and the Special Olympics.
In times of crisis and need, Owen Electric crews have assisted more than 50 utilities restore power in more than a dozen states. We coordinate with co-ops experiencing widespread outages- generally as a result of severe weather, such as hurricanes or ice storms- to send crews, trucks and other needed equipment to help restore power as quickly as is safely possible.
