Get Money for Energy-Saving Upgrades on Kentucky Farms

Agricultural producers looking to increase the energy efficiency of existing farm facilities or equipment may be eligible for cost-share funding. The On-Farm Energy Efficiency Incentives Program, administered by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, provides incentives that improve farm efficiency and sustainability.
Among the energy-efficient upgrades eligible for reimbursement are:
- ENERGY STAR-labeled lighting
- Insulation
- Generators
- Windows, doors, skylights, roofing, or other ENERGY STAR building components
- Programmable thermostats and controllers
- High volume, low speed fans
- Tankless water heaters
- Low-energy livestock waterers
- Variable drives for well pumps
- New installation of, or conversion to, energy efficient grain drying/poultry/dairy systems
Successful applicants may receive up to 50 percent reimbursement of a qualified energy-saving item (up to $10,000). The 2025 application deadlines are April 25, August 29, and December 19.
